Thirteen mature estate trees in the Lower Park are illuminated with dedicated 100W warm-white architectural floodlights arranged across three natural clusters (5–3–5). Each floodlight is mounted on a reinforced concrete pad and powered via a 2.5mm² 5-core SWA backbone. The result is a dramatic, signature night-time feature visible from the hotel, terrace and wedding garden, fully controlled via a dedicated Spearhead controller.

Description of Project
The Lower Park is one of Easthampstead Park’s strongest landscape assets, with thirteen mature trees forming a natural, theatrical backdrop when viewed from the terrace and hotel. This lighting scheme transforms that backdrop into a deliberate night-time composition, using powerful 100W warm-white architectural floodlights aimed into the trunk and crown of each tree. The effect is a layered wall of height, depth and texture that becomes a defining estate feature after dark.
The trees are arranged into three clusters of five, three and five. Each floodlight is mounted on a dedicated reinforced concrete pad, raw-bolted for long-term stability even in soft ground. Optics are set to lift the trunk and timber structure cleanly, revealing the canopy without undue spill or glare.
Power and control are delivered via a 2.5mm² 5-core SWA system. Each live core feeds one tree cluster, with a shared neutral and earth. This creates clean grouping logic and keeps design volt drop within acceptable limits for feature tree lighting across the longest 300m run. Approximately 350m of trenching is included, reinstated to estate PC-sum standards.
A dedicated Spearhead controller enables grouped switching and scene-setting, allowing the hotel to choose between full display, subtle cluster emphasis or softer evening ambience. This becomes a high-impact feature for weddings, corporate events, photography, and seasonal displays, significantly elevating the estate’s after-dark identity.

The Five-Star scheme turns the Lower Park into a landmark night-time feature. Each 100W floodlight is precisely aimed to reveal trunk form, height and the spread of seasonal foliage. From the terrace, the effect is a large-scale sculptural backdrop of warm-white light, adding depth and drama to evening weddings, corporate events and photography.
Each of the three clusters is controlled independently via the dedicated Spearhead controller, allowing the hotel to select from multiple scenes: full display, left/right cluster emphasis or soft wedding mode. Reinforced concrete pads, deep trenching and high-grade cabling make this a long-term, estate-grade installation designed to withstand decades of service.

Both schemes use the same premium fittings, reinforced pads, trenching and cabling. The trees look equally impressive when illuminated. The difference lies in control and commissioning:

• Four-Star provides a simplified master scene and cluster switching with reduced commissioning.
Both versions are future-upgradeable because the infrastructure is identical.
