A refined lighting scheme for the estate’s main driveway barrier, combining four heritage lamp columns with warm-white tree uplighting on both sides of the approach road. This creates a clear, elegant and secure gateway moment, seamlessly transitioning guests from the wider driveway into the formal arrival sequence of Easthampstead Park.

Description of Project
Area 2C represents the first formal threshold of the estate: the barrier gateway separating the public approach from the hotel’s controlled driveway. This location performs a dual role — it must function reliably for traffic management while delivering a strong architectural identity that sets expectations for guests entering the grounds. The lighting scheme strengthens both aspects through the use of traditional heritage columns and balanced tree illumination.
Four Victorian-style lamp columns, finished in satin black with warm-white lantern heads, are arranged symmetrically around the gateway. Their height, tone and detailing match the heritage fittings in Area 1 and along the forecourt, creating a coherent transition into the estate. The warm 2700K–3000K output ensures comfortable visibility for pedestrians and drivers without excessive glare.
To reinforce this architectural focus, two full LightPro Castor 9 tree-lighting kits are installed — one to each side of the drive. The uplighters lift the mature trees, creating depth and guiding the eye naturally towards the hotel. This combination of vertical structural lighting and soft canopy illumination ensures the gateway reads confidently and improves legibility for vehicles at night.
All trenching, cabling and reinstatement follow your estate-wide backbone methodology, with SWA mains-fed interconnections and two dedicated power points serving the tree-lighting kits. Installation is completed using heritage-safe techniques, and full integration with the SpearPoint controller ensures matched dimming profiles and unified scene-setting across the forecourt, upper driveway and building façade.

FIVE STAR PROPOSAL
Our highest-specification scheme using premium architectural fittings
The 5-Star specification provides a complete architectural gateway upgrade using four heritage lamp columns and two dedicated tree-lighting kits. This version includes enhanced foundation works, premium alignment and carefully routed SWA interconnections to deliver a robust long-term installation. The lamp columns offer a strong architectural presence that matches the wider estate design language, while the tree uplighting adds depth and clarity to this important threshold. All works are carried out using heritage-safe methods with a high level of detailing, ensuring the scheme integrates naturally into the surrounding landscape. Full SpearPoint control allows dimming coordination with the forecourt, driveway and façade, producing a refined and highly polished gateway experience.
NOTES
Noted differences in costs for this quotation between 5 Star Proposal & 8-12-25 Meeting
The Defined Scheme mirrors the 5-Star gateway specification while incorporating refinements agreed with Benjamin. Key differences include the integration of a heritage-black barrier with discreet PIR sensors and LED under-lighting, enhancing operational functionality and visual effect. While the four twin-armed lamp columns and two tree-lighting kits remain, these additions provide a smoother, more dynamic arrival sequence. All enhancements continue to use heritage-safe methods, with careful alignment, robust foundations, and fully routed SWA interconnections, preserving the long-term integrity and elegant presentation of the gateway.

DEFINED INSTALL
Our cost efficient-specification scheme using premium architectural fittings
The Defined Scheme retains the full architectural intent of the 5-Star Proposal while incorporating refinements agreed with Benjamin. The barrier (repaintable in heritage black to match the estate fencing) now integrates discreet PIR sensors for smooth automatic operation, with LED under-lighting added for enhanced visual effect.
The four existing twin-armed heritage lamp columns remain as specified, providing symmetry and architectural presence at the entrance. Two tree-lighting kits continue to add depth and warm-white structure across the canopies, guiding the eye through the gateway. Enhanced foundations, precise alignment, and carefully routed SWA interconnections ensure a robust, long-term installation.
