1. Pathway Lights

“Paths are the veins of a garden,” Gary says. “If people can’t see where they’re going, they won’t use the space. Gentle bollards or low-level stakes light the way without glare, and customers always tell me it makes their garden feel instantly more welcoming.”

2. Uplighters for Trees

“A mature tree at night is a sculpture in itself,” Gary notes. By aiming light up into the canopy, branches and textures are revealed in layers. Clients love the sense of theatre this creates, especially in winter when bare silhouettes look striking.

3. Wall Wash Lighting

Instead of leaving fences or walls in darkness, a soft wash of light adds backdrop and depth. “It frames the whole garden, stops it feeling like a black void,” Gary explains. Perfect for brickwork, oak posts, or even rendered walls.

4. Step & Deck Lights

Recessed step and deck fittings combine safety and style. “Trips on outdoor steps are one of the biggest hazards. By keeping them subtle—just a warm glow—you get safety without spoiling the look,” Gary says.

5. Water Feature Lighting

From koi ponds to modern fountains, lighting water transforms the mood. “The reflections double the effect of every fitting,” Gary points out. Submerged lights add sparkle, while edge-mounted spots highlight movement.

6. Lanterns & Statement Fittings

These are the jewellery of a garden. Traditional lanterns suit period properties, while sleek contemporary fittings complement modern spaces. “They’re the detail guests always comment on,” Gary adds.

7. Spotlighting Sculptures

Art deserves attention. “One precise spotlight can turn a forgotten statue or metal sculpture into the star of the show,” Gary says. It’s about careful positioning so the piece is seen but not overwhelmed.

8. Smart Controls & Sensors

Lighting that responds to lifestyle. Pre-set programmes create gentle ambience every evening, while PIR sensors give instant light when a gate or driveway is approached. “It’s practical, secure, and efficient—clients really value that,” Gary says.

9. Outdoor Sockets & Utility Lighting

A garden has to work as well as look good. Adding outdoor sockets and task lighting near sheds, greenhouses or outdoor kitchens means homeowners can use the space confidently year-round.

10. Energy-Efficient LEDs

“The foundation of everything we do,” Gary says firmly. LEDs use a fraction of the power of old fittings and last for years. By choosing warm white tones, they deliver atmosphere without harshness—clients enjoy beauty and low running costs.
