The Brief
The client wanted their terraced gravel garden to feel safe and inviting at night. They requested a softly lit walkway for safe movement and a dramatic focal point for their feature tree after dusk.
Project Details
Our design focused on subtle elegance. We specified low-level pathway lighting to guide movement across the terrace, paired with a discreet uplight to highlight the focal tree. The lighting scheme creates a warm, welcoming glow that is stylish yet neighbour-friendly.
Installation was carried out by our Part P-compliant team, who carefully hid all cabling and used durable LED fittings. This ensured the garden’s clean, uncluttered daytime look was preserved, while the evening transformation is both striking and functional.
The result is a once-dark terrace that is now safe, accessible, and visually engaging. The pathway guides visitors naturally, and the uplit tree becomes a stunning statement feature, adding depth and character after sunset.
Smart Controls

In this part of the garden the focal point was the mature Yew tree which we lit from two 2w 12v spike spot lights.

Designed for flexibility and reliability, it allows clients to control pathways, uplights, and water features via a simple app or remote. The system includes timers, dusk-to-dawn automation, and four independent circuits, all housed in a durable, weatherproof enclosure.
Energy Efficiency
We specified modern LEDs throughout, delivering crisp, high-quality illumination while consuming minimal power — just pennies per night to run. This ensures long-lasting, reliable performance with very low maintenance, keeping the garden eco-friendly and cost-effective. By combining energy-efficient LEDs with expert lighting design, the space now looks stunning after dark while remaining economical to operate.
Future Proof
We incorporated a discreet outdoor socket suitable for party lighting, sound systems, or heaters. The low-voltage design allows for easy future expansion, supported by long warranties and optional maintenance plans for ongoing peace of mind.
