Right-Hand Wing & Orangery Elevation

Area 1

Zone C

This zone covers the full right-hand wing of Easthampstead Park, including the orangery-style elevation, stone bays and upper detailing. The lighting scheme is designed to mirror the balance and elegance of the left-hand wing while celebrating the softer architectural lines of this façade, ensuring a unified and refined front elevation across the entire building.

Right-Hand Wing & Orangery Elevation

The Brief

Overview of the proposed lighting installation

The right-hand wing forms a calm architectural counterbalance to the left octagonal form, presenting a more linear, orangery-style façade that completes the symmetry of Easthampstead Park’s main elevation. Stone-framed bays, recessed glazing and decorative upper ledges are enhanced with carefully positioned warm-white architectural lighting to reinforce proportion and rhythm. Subtle uplighters beneath each bay provide even vertical illumination without over-lighting the windows, while controlled beam angles allow the glazing to glow softly rather than receive direct light. Discreet accent lighting lifts key stone details so the wing reads confidently alongside Zones A and B. All fittings use warm-white 2700K light, delivered via low-voltage, heritage-safe installations and controlled through the SpearPoint façade system for perfectly balanced coordination across the frontage.

The Plan

Outline programme for the lighting installation

Area 1C covers the right-hand Orangery adjoining the main porch and is fully integrated into the Spearhead control system. A single socket outlet, controlled via Spearhead, will supply an extra-low-voltage transformer serving this zone.

Eight architectural uplighters will be installed to illuminate the pilasters and corbels of the Orangery window feature facing the car-parking and turning area, reinforcing the building’s depth and presence when viewed on approach. Two further matching uplighters will be installed on the front face of the Orangery to complete the composition and maintain visual balance across the façade.

All uplighters within this zone are the same fittings used to illuminate the porch pilasters and the corbels of the hexagonal turret at ground level, ensuring complete consistency of form, beam quality and warm-white colour temperature across Areas 1A, 1B and 1C.

All fittings are controlled via the Spearhead lighting controller and operated by remote control, allowing this zone to work independently while contributing to a cohesive frontage that visually wraps around arriving guests.

The Installation

Installation Methodology

Power within this zone is consolidated into a streamlined LV architecture routed through the Area 1 network. A 100W transformer supports the Castor 9 uplighters, supplying each bay through heritage-safe cabling routes and reversible fixings. Trenching and reinstatement follow the agreed PC allowances, with all conduits installed discreetly to minimise visual impact. The SpearPoint controller provides centralised dimming, timing and scene coordination to ensure the right-hand wing operates in harmony with Zones A, B and D. Low-voltage technology enhances safety, durability and future flexibility, ensuring the orangery elevation remains both elegant and operationally robust.

Future Proof

A lighting system built for future adaptability and reliability

This zone is fully integrated into the SpearPoint façade controller, enabling seasonal dimming, event-mode brightness and coordinated festive scenes. The LV layout provides spare capacity for temporary additions such as warm-white garlands, subtle window-frame accents or soft uplighting for wedding or corporate events. All orangery-facing uplighters can be re-aimed for specific occasions without modifying the core installation. This ensures the right-hand wing remains flexible, timeless and visually synchronised with the wider frontage throughout the year.

Warranties & Optional Maintenances Plan

All lighting installations by Garden Lighting Solutions by Eagle & Spear include a comprehensive 12-month warranty covering fittings and workmanship, providing assurance that the system will perform as designed. Any installation or component-related issues arising within this period will be addressed promptly and professionally at no additional cost.

The first year also includes a maintenance plan to protect the long-term quality of the installation. This covers routine system checks, minor alignment adjustments and confirmation that all fittings, connections and controls are operating correctly, helping to maintain consistent lighting levels as the garden matures.

After the initial 12 months, clients may opt for an annual maintenance plan. This can include inspections, lamp replacement, cleaning of fittings, repairs and ongoing optimisation, ensuring the lighting scheme continues to perform reliably year after year.
